About Vitiligo

Vitiligo (Leucoderma) commonly known as white spots had been the major cause of disgust to human beings from vedic period. Ancient Ayurvedic texts are having good description about it where in it is better known as Shwitra or Kilas. This problem is manifested much clearly in the person residing in temperate zone, in comparison to europeans. Vitiligo affects the mental status of the victim, rather than the physical status. Common people consider it as a variety of leprosy therefore, our society neglects the person suffering from vitiligo. Thus the affected person is exposed to a state of anxiety.
